Salam...
actually i owe you an explanation on my dad's tumor... so, i took a few time off to discuss with you guys, what actually is my dad's suffering from.
i found a great website (revolutionhealth.com). So below is a few informations of What You Need To Understand about Brain Tumor...
A brain tumor is a mass or growth of abnormal cells in your brain. Many different types of brain tumors exist. Some brain tumors are noncancerous (benign), and some brain tumors are cancerous (malignant). Brain tumors can begin in your brain (primary brain tumors), or cancer can begin in other parts of your body and spread to your brain (secondary, or metastatic brain tumors).
The number of brain tumors diagnosed each year is increasing. There's evidence the increase has been occurring for decades. But it's not clear why...

As you can see, it has 2 types of tumor, cancerous and non-cancerous. If it is found a cancerous one, it should be removed as quick as possible.. but my dad's tumor is a non-cancerous. Alhamdulillah. So, when we started to know he had one, we started to discuss a few possibilities on how to deal with this tumor.
one option is - to remove it. But thinking of the process, the causes etc, that made my dad and us postpone the idea of removing it..
2nd option - medicine. My dad tried a few modern and traditional remedies..
but..
still, the symptoms are there..
...The signs and symptoms of a brain tumor vary greatly and depend on the brain tumor's size, location and rate of growth.
General signs and symptoms caused by brain tumors may include:
New onset or change in pattern of headaches
Headaches that gradually become more frequent and more severe
Unexplained nausea or vomiting
Vision problems, such as blurred vision, double vision or loss of peripheral vision
Gradual loss of sensation or movement in an arm or a leg
Difficulty with balance
Speech difficulties
Confusion in everyday matters
Personality or behavior changes
Seizures, especially in someone who doesn't have a history of seizures
Hearing problems
Hormonal (endocrine) disorders..

So, he keeps geting severe headache.. and the final one was on the Friday when he passed out.. and we had to bring him to the hospital...
At the hospital, they did a CT scan, and found out that dad's tumor had grown!
So, it looks like this.. (again, credits to the revolutionhealth.com)
As you can see, the tumor has made the brain became swell, and pushed aside.. and this has caused my dad to have headache and so on.. (because the brain can't function well anymore..)
So, last Wednesday, after discussing with my dad's specialist, he agreed to do an operation.
The specialist told us that it's gonna be an easy operation (with a minimal risk).. he was just gonna peel the skin, cut out the skull, and open up, take out the tumor, and put everything back on, and walla! you're done!
However, we can only hope for the best, and pray a lot...
After the operation, the specialist told me that the tumor somehow has a few blood vessels attached to it... so, in order to remove the tumor, the blood vessels will be affected..
There's no other way.
The tumor has to go.
The Dr checked the vessels. Seems that the blood can still flow to the rest of the body.. and hopefully the "damage" at the vessels can be recover.
After the operation..
My dad's face was so "bengkak".. Dr said it was normal..
However, Dr was surprised to see that my dad's left side was paralysed. He told us he hoped it wasn't a permanent one.
So, until now, the moment i'm writing this to you, my dad is still in the hospital.. Not able to move easily (because of the paralysed thing).. had to depend on my mom who is accompanying him.. I feel quite bad because i can't stay and take care of dad.. but i make a point to visit him everyday.. Get well soon, dad! :)
